Golden Text: 1 John 3:14 CSB.
“We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.”
EXPOSITION:
We started looking at the resurrected life. We looked at the nature of death, so that we can know where we are.
Now, this resurrected life and nature of death are referring to the power or the vital force of the soul, because the soul is the centre of man’s consciousness or awareness of himself.
It is your mind that gives you the sense of being, awareness or consciousness. It is the soul that makes you to be able to say “myself”.
So, life or death are natures or the vital force that engages all the faculties of the human soul in daily manifestations.
If someone’s soul is ruled by life, which is the resurrected life – the life of Christ, the persons thoughts, intentions, predispositions, rationality, passion, emotions and willingness would be, to express true and unconditional love to his fellow humans irrespective of their differences along the prejudice of race, religion, sexual orientation or culture.
Therefore, today’s focus scripture says “we know” that we have passed from death to life, not because we come out for alter call, or immerse ourselves in a holy water, or sprinkle ourselves with anointing oil but because we love our brothers and sisters.
If there is any truth in Christ, any mark of a transformed life or any light in this gospel, it is to know that, a man that is born by the Spirit of God through the gospel of Christ is known by his love life, according to this scripture.
So, if your heart nurses hatred, harbours unforgiveness, or is filled with selfishness, you need to let go, and let the life of God permeate your soul and make you a new man in the heart of your soul.
Prayer: Father, I come to you, and to your light, let it lighten up all the fibre of my being, and make me a new man, amen.
